As one of its highest objectives, the Department of Pharmacy Services strives to create a workplace that is satisfying, stimulating, rewarding, and cutting-edge. Our hallmark is a spirit of teamwork. At our core is the philosophy that superior patient care results are obtained by freeing our pharmacy staff to work side-by-side with other members of the health care team. Under this practice model, each of our pharmacists is assigned to a team responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to a specific group of patients. This innovative staffing model is the exception to the rule of most other academic medical centers and results in a work environment with ample opportunities for curbside consults with peers and other colleagues regarding challenging patient care issues. Collectively, all of these factors combine to create an enjoyable workplace and to motivate our staff to achieve a high standard of practice.
