The Harborview Burn Center cares for virtually all burn patients in the state of Washington, as well as patients with severe skin diseases such as necrotizing fasciitis and toxic epidermal necrolysis. Clinical pharmacist specialists are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. Pharmacists are involved in antimicrobial management, pain management, nutrition, and all other aspects of pharmacotherapy. Responsibilities include monitoring and optimization of pharmacotherapy, and providing pharmacotherapy education to other health care providers, patients, and families.

Pharmacists on the Burn Service team also serve as consultants for all pediatric inpatients, and provide information regarding drug selection and dosage calculations for pediatric patients.
