The primary function of this position is to evaluate, develop, and implement best practice recommendations relating to the safety of medication use at UWMC. Responsibilities include working with Risk Management and Quality Improvement to develop and implement a non-punitive near-miss and medication error reporting system; evaluating national med errors to design UWMC system improvements; measuring and evaluating performance of UWMC medication use systems; implementation of patient safety quality improvement initiatives; and working to strengthen the culture of patient safety within UWMC.
