PGY2 Critical Care
Program Goals
- Provision of pharmaceutical care services to patients in a critical care setting.
- Effective communication with patients and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in the education of pharmacy students and PGY1 residents as well as medical, nursing and other healthcare staff.
- Develop and participate in the research activities of the Medical Centers.
Requirements
- Develop a clinical service or research project designed to improve pharmaceutical care services for critical care patients.
- Participate in teaching activities at the medical center and school of pharmacy.
- Participate in residents' meetings.
- Have an integrated service commitment and work 32 hours per month in the Critical Care Satellite Pharmacy, scheduled as 1 weekend (12hr shifts) and 1 Friday evening shift (8hr).
- Prepare and present drug monographs for the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
- Present the results of the clinical service or research project at the Western States Conference for Pharmacy Residents and Preceptors
- Present a poster at the ASHP midyear clinical meeting.
Qualifications of the Applicant
Selected applicants will be required to visit the University of Washington for an on-site interview. The applicant must meet the following general requirements:
- Pharm.D. Degree from an ACPE-accredited College or School of Pharmacy.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent experience.
- Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Washington.
- Appointment to this residency program is contingent upon eligibility for employment according to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which requires employers to certify eligibility of employees not born in the United States.
Resident Stipend
Approximately $51,300 annually.

Residents will have five paid holidays that they will not be scheduled to work. Recognized holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
