PGY2 Residency in Oncology Pharmacy Practice
Program Goals
- Refine pharmaceutical care skills necessary to monitor the safety and efficacy of drug therapy for oncology patients in both the institutional and ambulatory settings.
- Demonstrate effective teaching skills.
- Utilize research skills to promote rational therapeutics in oncology practice.
- Participate in Medication Use Evaluations (MUE), Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and policy formation.
Requirements
- Develop a clinical service or research project designed to improve pharmaceutical care services for oncology patients.
- Present the results of the clinical service or research project at the Western States Conference for Pharmacy Residents and Preceptors.
- Prepare and present drug monographs for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- Participate in teaching activities in the medical center and school of pharmacy.
- Participate in residents' meetings.
- Have an integrated service commitment and work 32 hours per month in the Oncology Satellite Pharmacy.
- Prepare for publication an Oncology related topic.
Qualifications of the Applicant
Selected applicants will be required to visit the University of Washington for an on-site interview. The applicant must meet the following general requirements:
- Pharm.D. Degree from an ACPE-accredited College or School of Pharmacy.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent experience.
- Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Washington.
- Appointment to this residency program is contingent upon eligibility for employment according to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which requires employers to certify eligibility of employees not born in the United States.
Resident Stipend
Approximately $51,300 annually.

Residents will have five paid holidays that they will not be scheduled to work. Recognized holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
